As the name of this blog suggests, I believe we are open people. Open to trying new things. Open to living life to the fullest. Why is it that new and exciting things scare the human psyche? Why should anyone not be interested in broadening their horizons?
It all baffles me the way people scurry away from tasks outside their comfort zone. I honestly shouldn't be talking. I'm most likely as guilty of this as anyone. I'd like to think I make an effort against this and it may be that I do more than some people, yet I still pass up opportunities that I feel uneasy about. Maybe it's human nature. Maybe it's the way culture has shaped us.
That is why I've decided that 2009 is to be the year where I become unafraid of the new. Cast away my discomfort and open my mind to new things. By starting the year off this way I can never fail. Even if I only leave the safety of my normal life once it will still be once more then I normally would have. So I put this to you readers of our blog. TRY NEW THINGS! BECOME MORE WORLDLY! JOIN ME IN THIS RESOLUTION!
